January 19 – 29, 2019

The breathtaking landscape and stunning wildlife in Tanzania have fascinated both travellers and photographers for decades. For photographers especially, the sheer amount of stunning photographic opportunities have long put going on a safari in Tanzania at the very top of the photographer bucketlist.

Imagine a lioness stalking it’s morning prey, a herd of giant African elephants traversing through a river valley, a cheetah sprinting through the endless plains of the Serengeti, an elusive rhino emerging from the beautiful and diverse Ngorongoro Crater, or the sun falling down over a classic umbrella acacia while the sky gives you one the most colourful and stunning sunsets you’ll ever see. You will capture all of these incredible scenes, and so many more, on an adventure that will truly inspire!

Wild Mind Travel Co. is proud to team up with renown Canadian photographer Neil Zeller as he leads an exclusive 10 Day/9 Night photography safari through some of the most beautiful scenery on earth. All participants will have the opportunity to capture this diverse landscape and highly sought after exotic wildlife with Neil’s expert eye!

Along with Wild Mind’s first-class services and amenities, the opportunity to experience this exclusive safari with fellow photography enthusiasts is not an opportunity you will want to pass up!

Participants will have the chance to photograph:

  • Full Supermoon over the Serengeti
  • Flamingos and soda lakes
  • Milky Way over the Southern Skies
  • The Southern Cross
  • The “Big Five” (Lions, Leopards, African Elephants, Buffalos, and Rhinos) Cheetahs, Hyenas, Jackals, Hippos, Wildebeest, Giraffes, Zebras, Oryx, Baboons, variety of Antelope, many different bird species (and much more!)
  • Stunning sunrises and sunsets

In addition to all of the amazing scenery, wildlife, and culture you will experience on this tour, participants will have the unique opportunity to witness the world famous Natural Wonder of the World – The Great Migration. Most of us know about the “Great Migration” from nature programs that capture some of the most thrilling moments on film. Often misunderstood, the migration is a perpetual, year-round process involving over one million wildebeest and 200,000 zebra who roam the plains quietly, in search of food and water. While some antelope and hyena may follow the herds, other animals remain in their territories or have separate migratory patterns. The migration’s most dramatic moments often occur when large numbers of wildebeest and zebra make river crossings, during which they must elude predators in a desperate fight for survival. There is no telling exactly when these highly dramatic movements will occur, but all safari-goers are sure to see plenty of wildebeest and zebra while in Tanzania.

During January-February every year, the migratory herds head back to the southern Serengeti. Within a two to three week time period, over half a million wildebeest are born with as many as 8 000 wildebeest being born on the same day! This spectacular phenomenon is another rare and unique event participants will have the opportunity to capture.

Wild Mind Travel Co. offers the opportunity for participants to combine this experience with another one or two of our other adventure tours. Participants have the option of adding on a Zanzibar island excursion or Mount Kilimanjaro climb! If you are interested in one or both of these adventures, you will have the opportunity to indicate your interest on the Registration form. A member of the Wild Mind team will contact you to organize a custom itinerary for you which includes your additional activities!

All of the safari cruisers are built to maximize comfort and viewing experience. Each cruiser seats 8, including 1 seat for our tour leader, Neil Zeller and the expert driver-guides, and 6 seats reserved for each participant. Everyone will have their own window, and during the game drives the roof will be opened to allow everyone to stand, view, and photograph the wildlife. Everyone will always be able to photograph every moment, without obstruction.
